Box Office News - May 1st

DINER THEATRE-- Dinner served diner-style! “Mass Appeal” to be featured! The Barrow-Civic Theatre presents “Mass Appeal”, May 8-9 and 16th in the Little Theatre.

This "diner theatre" production features Al Shilling as Father Tim Foley. Father Foley is a popular parish priest, who has retained the good will of his parishioners by cracking jokes and never taking an unpopular stand on crucial matters. His congregation loves him and he loves his church. One Sunday, his comfortable position is challenged by Mark Dolson, a young seminarian played by John Miller. Dolson's rebellious reputation and frank honesty about behavior seemingly "unbecoming" a candidate for the priesthood, threatens to earn him an expulsion from the seminary. Father Foley is expected to bring Dolson around to the Church's "party line," but the younger man resists the older man's advice--quite loudly at times. In the end, both men reach new understandings of the church, their relationship and themselves. Mass Appeal features some adult themes. Ted Smith is directing, with Rosie Petulla acting as production manager.

Catering for this show is by Judy Grandelis and The AmaZing Foods Catering Co. Tickets are $30.00 a plate. The menu choices are Grilled Chicken Breast over Basil Pesto Penne or Vegetarian Lasagna entrees. Also served will be Tuscan Salad, and fresh fruit shortcake for dessert.

There will be a cash bar for soft drinks, beer and wine. Cocktail hour begins at 5:30pm, dinner will be served at 6:30pm and the show starts at 7:30pm. Advance Reservations are required. Purchase online or through the Box Office at 814-437-3440.
